Reflections Across Borders: Literary Zine

Writing is never a solitary journey. These afterlives—in poetry and artwork—are inspired by the work that Leanne Trapedo Sims and Markesha Jackson began with the men at Henry Hill Correctional Facility in the fall of 2022. We owe gratitude to the men who allowed us into their lives. The project then grew into the inaugural Knox-Hill collaboration as ten students from Knox College joined their professor and eight inside men for a class on Life Writing as Social Engagement at the facility in Spring 2023.

All students—both inside and outside—attest to the transformative experience.
